Jan Backhaus studied at the universities of Konstanz, Kiel und Paris. Thereafter he additionally passed postgraduate studies in the fields of European law and international business relation at the European College of Hamburg. In 1998 he was awarded his law doctorate at the university of Kiel. He has been admitted to the German bar in 2000.
Jan Backhaus is a partner of CORVEL. Prior to joining CORVEL he was an attorney with CMS Hasche Sigle until the end of 2005 and thereafter until 2017 partner at Dabelstein & Passehl in Hamburg.
